🤿 Dive Shipwreck Park
Shipwreck Park:
Florida’s world-famous dive destination awaits below the waves.
Just two miles offshore from Pompano Beach lies Shipwreck Park—a curated underwater sculpture garden and reef-building site that’s drawn divers from around the globe. With 18 intentional wreck dives, including the iconic Lady Luck, this is Florida’s premier destination for marine art, artificial reefs, and deep-sea adventure.
🎯 Why You Should Dive Here
Shipwreck Park is a nonprofit reef project combining art, science, and tourism to create one of the most exciting artificial reef systems in the world.
Since the sinking of Lady Luck in 2016, this underwater gallery has flourished with coral growth, vibrant fish populations, and a rotating collection of submerged artworks.
Divers explore thriving marine habitats while supporting long-term ocean conservation and education initiatives.
⚓ Featured Dive: The Lady Luck
The Lady Luck is a 324-foot tanker sitting upright on the ocean floor.
Its main deck rests around 100–110 feet, making it ideal for Advanced Open Water divers.
Decorated with giant dice, octopus dealers, and submerged slot machines, it’s one of the most creative and photogenic wrecks in the world.
The Coral Throne will be permanently installed on the Lady Luck at approximately 100 feet deep, adding a bold new sculpture to the park's living reef.
🛳️ Other Notable Wrecks at Shipwreck Park
Okinawa – Tugboat resting at 35–70 feet; perfect for recreational divers.
Miller Lite, Union Express, Mariner II, and others – ranging from 80 to 165 feet.
Sucre (Johnny Morris) – A deeper technical dive site for experienced and tec-certified divers.
The wrecks are clustered for easy access and allow for drift-diving — often called “valet diving” — where divers glide along the current from one structure to the next.
🐠 Art Meets Conservation
All vessels are cleaned and reef-safe before sinking, creating permanent habitats for coral, sponges, fish, and sea turtles.
Sculptural installations educate divers and snorkelers about ocean ecosystems, marine health, and reef regeneration.
The Coral Throne will continue this tradition—offering a functional habitat, stunning imagery, and a powerful symbol of marine stewardship.
🛥️ Dive Operators & Gear Services South Florida Diving Headquarters – One of the top dive shops in the area, offering full-service charters, rental gear, and guided dives to Shipwreck Park.
AquaLife Divers, DH Scuba, and other local operators provide certifications, refresher courses, and advanced wreck-diving trips.
Gear rental, private instruction, emergency protocols, and surface support boats are all available from the marina just minutes away.
