The Original Design Concept

The Lady Luck Shipwreck Park

🛠️ Coral Throne Fabrication More than vision — the Coral Throne is ready to build.

This isn’t just an idea. The Coral Throne has been fully designed with fabrication, installation, and long-term reef compatibility in mind. It’s engineered to meet the highest standards of public art, marine safety, and environmental durability.

🔩 Built to Last
Fabricated from clean, reef-safe steel, the Coral Throne uses only materials approved for artificial reef integration.
Edges are softened and sanded for diver safety and marine compatibility.
Structural supports are internally reinforced and tested for submersion at 100 feet.
Pick-points are pre-welded for controlled underwater placement via lift bags or crane rigging.

🤝 Built with the Best
The Coral Throne is designed in collaboration with highly respected fabricators, metal shops, and reef engineers. Zimmerman Metals – Large-scale architectural and sculpture fabrication
JunoWorks – Custom art metalwork and marine sculpture specialists
JM Construction & Engineering – Structural steel support and public art installation team
Final welding and finishing can occur on-site or at studio level depending on timeline and budget.
You’ll be working with professionals who have delivered for major corporations, cities, and international art collectors.

🧱 Fabrication Process Overview
Modular design allows fabrication in multiple sections for easy transport and install.
Land Display: Initially installed onshore in Pompano Beach, allowing public interaction and media engagement.

Underwater Integration: After its time on land, the sculpture will be lowered to its permanent home on the Lady Luck at ~100 feet deep in Shipwreck Park.

Reef Transformation: Once submerged, the Coral Throne will begin its second life — transforming into a living reef as marine organisms begin to colonize the surface.

📐 Fabrication Specs at a Glance
Material: Uncoated ferrous steel or clean mild steel, minimum ¼-inch thickness — fully reef-safe, free of contaminants, no oils or sealants
Finish: Raw steel finish to encourage marine growth — no coatings of any kind
Safety Surfaces: Marine-grade stainless steel seat and armrests to prevent coral growth and ensure diver comfort and safety
All contact points ground smooth and edge-softened for safe interaction

Weight: Approximately 500–700 lbs, based on modular build
Height: Approximately 6 feet, visually bold but well-balanced for underwater placement
Mounting: Internal frame with hidden marine-grade stainless tube for secure bolt-down to the Lady Luck deck
Construction Method: Modular sections for safe transport and precision underwater assembly
Add-ons: Designed to naturally support coral attachment over time — no artificial reef pods or concrete bases required

🌊 Made for the Ocean Every part of the Coral Throne is designed to respect and enhance its marine environment: No contaminants, toxins, or sealed surfaces
No small entrapment points or diver hazards
Reef-safe shapes that allow coral, sponge, and anemone growth
Designed to remain stable and upright in ocean currents, storms, and seasonal movement

📸 Fabrication Insights We believe in focusing on the work — not turning every weld into a photoshoot. That said, updates may occasionally be shared to highlight key moments in the Coral Throne’s creation.
